Roland De Rose – Director of Music
Roland De Rose grew up in Albuquerque and minored in Instrumental/Choral music and music conducting at UNM, the University of Albuquerque, and North Western University, Evanston, Illinois. He is a former member of the 502ND Air Force Band, having served as solo clarinetist and librarian for that group. Roland was the President, Orchestra Personnel Manager and principal clarinetist with the Civic Light Opera for 20 years.
He is past president of the Musician's Association of Albuquerque, local 618, and past director of the Alb Civic Chorus. He prestently directs and conducts the annual performance of Handel's Messiah by the East Mountain Choral Society.
He teaches woodwind, guitar, and voice, and runs his own swing band, Dixieland, and jazz ensembles as well as a classical woodwind quintet. He is a former charter member of the all-male vocal ensemble De Profundis.
Roland was Director of Quality and Safety at Kirtland AFB, and presently is the owner and instructor of T.R.E.A.D. Defensive Driving School. As a certified professional speaker he gives keynote addresses, seminars, and workshops.
He has been a daily practioner of Aerobics for almost a half century! He collects antique and classic automobiles and is an avid gardener. He daily visited the construction of our church back in 1965-66. He is conducting research for three books. "Reengineering of Churches/Synagogues," "Stop T.B.O.B." (Talking Behind Others Backs), and "The Lost Art of Mentoring." He is a recipient of the Stat's Distinguished Public Service Award.
